Winners, Losers, and the Driver of the Day from COTA

Biggest Winner- COTA’s Reconfiguration and the Fans

That was one of the best races I’ve seen. COTA’s reconfiguration is here to stay. The track’s contract is up at the end of 2025. After that performance, it’s going to stay on the schedule. It would be upsetting to see it leave.

Biggest Loser- Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson is today’s biggest loser. He started in the top ten and had one of the best cars in practice. Nothing went right for Larson today, including losing a tire. With a 32nd-place finish, this will be a weekend to forget.

Driver of the Day- Chase Elliott

Chase Elliott was the driver of the day. After a top-ten start, he was spun in the first turn of the first lap. He spent all day working his way back up front. His driving was rewarded with a fourth-place finish.

Winner- Christopher Bell

Back-to-back wins for Bell, how could he not be a winner?

Loser- TrackHouse Racing

It was a disastrous day for TrackHouse. The team showed tremendous speed in both practice and qualifying. It didn’t transition into the results they were expecting. Shane Van Gisbergen’s car wouldn’t launch in starts. Daniel Suarez and Conner Zilisch were involved in a heavy crash. Ross Chastain faded out of the top ten late. Overall a poor day for a promising weekend.

Winner- Noah Gragson

A top-ten finish for Gragson puts him in the winner column.

Winner/Loser- Kyle Busch

Busch had a great day, leading 41 laps. He didn’t have the tires at the end and was passed with less than 10 laps to go. He faded to a fifth-place finish after dominating the day.
