John Hunter Nemechek to the Haas FT 41 O’Reilly Auto Parts Series for 2027

When John Hunter Nemechek lost his Legacy Motor Club ride in the No. 42 Camry to Josh Berry later this summer, his future became unknown.

Wednesday morning, the Haas Factory Team announced the first driver of their 2027 OAPS program. John Hunter was introduced as the driver of the team’s No. 41 Chevrolet, joining a yet-unknown driver in the team’s No. 00 entry. John Hunter has raced the LMC No. 42 in the Cup Series for three seasons now, scoring a career-best finish of 4th, twice. In those three seasons, he has also secured 14 top-10 finishes.

“John Hunter brings the experience and talent we’re looking for at Haas Factory Team,” said Joe Custer, President of Haas Factory Team. “We’re excited to have him join our organization and look forward to competing for wins and championships together.”

“I’m excited to join Haas Factory Team’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program,” said Nemechek. “They have championship-caliber cars and personnel, and I’m ready to get to work with this group and compete for wins in 2027.”

“We’ve been part of John Hunter’s journey for a long time, and we’re proud to keep going with him at Haas Factory Team,” said Bart Proctor, CEO of Pye-Barker. “For us, every race is a chance to celebrate the Pye-Barker team and the values we share, and to represent them with pride on a national stage.”

John Hunter Nemechek was a force behind the wheel in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series when racing for Joe Gibbs Racing. Over about a season and a half, JHN scored 10 wins for the Gibbs No. 20 team.
