Alpine F1 is currently in shambles. Former team principal Oliver Oakes has left. His tenure was less than a year. Alpine has had four team principals in five years. Alpine F1 Switches to Mercedes-Benz Power Starting 2026

Alpine F1 announced today that beginning in 2026, the team will begin to operate Mercedes-Benz power units (Engines for our non-F1 friends) after deciding to ditch their own power unit earlier this season. The deal with the German juggernaut also includes use of their gearbox (Transmissions). Esteban Ocon Leaving Alpine at Season’s End

Esteban Ocon and Alpine announced today that the 27-year-old Frenchman will not be with the team in 2025. This comes after his shunt with teammate Pierre Gasly at Monaco, a move that saw Ocon receive a five-place grid penalty for Canada. For Alpine, this is the worst-case scenario.
